DLS leads in the production of thermal labels.

At DLS, thermal labels, both direct and thermal transfer, are our main business. We carry an extensive selection of stock thermal labels in both roll and fanfold formats.

Thermal Transfer Labels

Materials

Requires face stock and ribbon

Advantages

  • Different face stock & ribbon combinations provide scratch, smudge and chemical resistance
  • Less expensive material than direct thermal
  • All material is scanable in both visible and infrared light
  • Many face stock choices
  • Longer shelf life

Disadvantages

  • Less efficient with a need to change ribbons
  • Ribbon lengths don’t always match label roll lengths causing more downtime
