(DLS) is seeking a 2^nd Shift Production Supervisor to join our Itasca, IL team.  The Production Shift Supervisor is a key member of the plant management team and is responsible for the success of shift flexographic and digital printing operations. This position supervises manufacturing processes in support of the overall company manufacturing strategy, to maximize safety, productivity, quality, waste, and customer satisfaction.

Shift Hours: Monday – Thursday, 2pm – 12am (4 day workweek)

Pay Range:

$72,000 - $87,000 annually, plus bonus opportunity

Key Responsibilities:

• Supervise and lead manufacturing teams to meet manufacturing targets while ensuring safety, quality, and production efficiencies
• Drive effective labor utilization, efficiency improvements, and adherence to quality processes, by assigning personnel, communicating priorities, and managing processes, equipment, resources and overtime
• Provide leadership, technical support, training, mentoring and periodic performance feedback to members of the manufacturing team, ensuring the successful accomplishment of production goals and enhancing their career development
• Monitor key performance indicators (KPI’s) for production efficiency, personnel management, and capacity utilization to ensure production of high-quality finished goods
• Provide manufacturing support by assisting team members in trouble shooting of equipment and production issues, and performing quality control sign-offs and press checks
• Identify equipment issues and coordinate with Equipment Maintenance to ensure necessary maintenance activities are completed
• Understand and communicate business objectives and customer requirements to manufacturing team, to ensure manufactured products meet customer needs
• Manage the ordering of replacement dies and other essential tooling
• Troubleshoot and support ink-related issues, including color matching and application challenges, in collaboration with press operators and ink room personnel
• Ensure daily start-up/shutdown procedures are followed each shift
• Review, manage and approve reporting of employee compensable hours and ERP daily balancing
• Manage employee discipline in alignment with company policies and procedures
• Maintain a safe and clean work environment, in accordance with corporate safety policies
• Ensure completion of all required employee training within designated timelines
• Promote company vision, strategy and mission objectives to encourage a safe, inclusive, accountable, innovative, and results-oriented work environment
• Other projects/duties as assigned

Qualifications:

• Minimum of 5 years experience in flexographic printing processes and techniques, with a strong understanding of manufacturing principles
• Minimum of 2 years supervisory experience in a manufacturing setting
• Proven ability to implement production procedures, with attention to detail
• Ability to coach and motivate staff to a higher level of performance
• High degree of mathematical aptitude, attention to detail and organization
• Self-motivated with a high level of critical thinking, sound decision making and problem-solving skills
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to communicate effectively with team members of all levels

• Willingness to cross-train and perform the work of other job tasks as necessary

The General Manager is responsible for planning, organizing and directing all aspects of plant operations to achieve company objectives in safety, quality, productivity, customer satisfaction and financial performance. This role requires a strategic, hands-on leader who can balance operational efficiency with a strong focus on people, process improvement and continuous growth.

Key Responsibilities:

• Oversee all aspects of daily plant operations, including purchasing, scheduling, production, warehousing, shipping/receiving and quality assurance

• Highly skilled in critical thinking, decision making and problem solving
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to communicate effectively with customers, vendors and team members of all levels
• Proficient computer skills (ERP, Microsoft Suite, etc.)

We are looking for an outgoing individual with excellent communication skills, keen attention to detail, and experience providing exceptional customer service in a manufacturing setting with the ability to work as part of a team in a fast-paced environment.

Essential Job Functions:

• Act as liaison to advocate for customers internally regarding issues and requests
• Respond in a professional, thoughtful manner to customers regarding any order inquiries, concerns or corrections via email and phone
• Review and enter complex orders into the ERP system, working closely with other departments to ensure accuracy and completeness
• Review final work orders for accuracy and clarity prior to release for production
• Provide pre-order information; such as current stock levels, lead times, pricing and freight quotes
• Provide post-order information; such as status updates and shipping documentation
• Coordinate expedites, order revisions and purchase order clarification between the customer and various internal departments
• Supply post-shipment documentation to accounting for invoicing
• Research shipping discrepancies and coordinate corrections with carrier
• Other duties as identified

Qualifications:

• Minimum of 2 years in a manufacturing customer service role required
• Label industry and/or printing experience highly desired, but will train the right candidate
• Excellent listening and communication skills
• Ability to multi-task effectively with a keen attention to detail
• Solid organization and follow-up skills
• Strong math aptitude
• Reliable work ethic
• Team player and hands-on learner with a positive attitude
• Working knowledge of common computer programs, including the Microsoft Office Suite
