  Digital Press Operator (Itasca, IL)

Diversified Labeling Solutions, Inc. (DLS) is looking for an experienced Digital Press Operator to join our Itasca, IL production team. This position offers the right candidates the opportunity to be key players in the DLS manufacturing process. This is a dynamic position that is very challenging and rewarding for someone who enjoys a fast paced, quality-oriented environment.

 

Pay Range:

$21.00 to $29.00 per hour, depending on experience

 

Key Responsibilities:

  • Create specified printed label material using the latest digital print technology, including HP Indigo, INX and Colordyne label presses
  • Review job specifications and understand processes required for production
  • Evaluate finished material on press, making necessary adjustments to meet quality standards
  • Work as part of a team that is committed to producing a quality product and meeting company objectives in a safe and clean working environment
  • Cross-train and perform the work of other job tasks as necessary

 

Qualifications:

  • Minimum of 2 years of digital printing experience preferred
  • HP Indigo, INX and/or Colordyne experience preferred, but will train the right candidate
  • Ability to consistently produce product within customer specifications, with minimal number of production errors
  • Demonstrated ability to be a self-starter and self-directed
  • Good communication skills
  • Excellent trouble shooting skills in a manufacturing environment
  • Ability to stand for prolonged periods of time and occasionally lift up to 70 lbs

  Material Handler (Duluth, GA - 2nd Shift)

Diversified Labeling Solutions, Inc. (DLS) is currently seeking an experienced Material Hander to join our 2nd shift Duluth, GA production team. This position offers the right candidate the opportunity to be a key player in the DLS manufacturing process. This is a dynamic position that is very challenging and rewarding for someone who enjoys a fast paced, quality-oriented environment.

Daily Shift: Monday – Friday, 3:00pm – 11:00pm

Key Responsibilities:

  • Stage raw material and supplies for each machine following production schedule and work order specifications
  • Inspect materials for damage or defects and ensure they meet quality standards prior to delivery to the production line
  • Maintain accurate inventory records by recording material movements via scan and reporting discrepancies
  • Collect, inspect and restock items partially used on production runs
  • Assist machine operators with equipment set-up, as needed
  • Assist with receiving incoming shipments, confirming the accuracy of the shipment
  • Maintain overall cleanliness and organization of storage and production areas
  • Safely operate automated material handling equipment, including forklift and pallet jack
  • Work as part of a team that is committed to producing a quality product and meeting company objectives in a safe and clean working environment
  • Other projects/duties as assigned

 

Requirements:

  • Minimum of 2 years material handling experience in a warehouse or manufacturing environment required
  • Prior experience in shipping, receiving and warehousing preferred
  • Experience operating a stand-up forklift, with the ability to lift or move up to 50 lbs.
  • Ability to obtain and maintain status of certified forklift operator (company certification provided)
  • Basic computer and mathematical skills
  • Experience reading and following production instructions and operational procedures
  • High attention to detail and deadlines with the ability to successfully multi-task, as necessary
  • Demonstrated ability to be a self-starter, with strong communication skills and work effectively within a team

  Flexographic Press Operator (Duluth, GA)

Diversified Labeling Solutions, Inc. (DLS) is seeking a Flexographic Press Operator to join our Duluth, GA team. This position offers the right candidate the opportunity to be a key player in the DLS manufacturing process. This is a dynamic position that is very challenging and rewarding for someone who enjoys a fast paced, quality-oriented environment.

 

Key Responsibilities:

  • Proficiently set-up, adjust and operate flexographic press with minimal direct supervision
  • Perform all make-ready tasks associated with the press
  • Read and review job order and understand processes required for production
  • Evaluate finished material on press, making necessary color or press adjustments to meet quality standards
  • Work as part of a team that is committed to producing a quality product and meeting company objectives in a safe and clean working environment
  • Cross-train and perform the work of other job tasks as necessary
  • Other duties as assigned to meet team objectives

 

Qualifications:

  • Minimum of 2 years of experience operating flexographic printing presses
  • Experience reading and following production instructions and operational procedures
  • Ability to consistently produce product within customer specifications, with minimal number of production errors
  • Demonstrated mechanical and troubleshooting aptitude in a manufacturing environment
  • Self-starter with strong communication skills
  • High attention to detail and deadlines with the ability to successfully multi-task
  • Willingness to work overtime hours and cross-train as needed to meet customer requirements
  • Ability to stand for prolonged periods of time and lift up to 50 lbs

  Label Estimator (Itasca, IL)

Diversified Labeling Solutions, Inc. (DLS) is seeking a Label Estimator to join our team. Members of the estimating team provide one-on-one support to our customers and internal departments by reviewing customer quote requests and entering the information into the ERP system or an excel calculator, to create a price estimate based upon job specifications. The successful candidate will develop customer relationships through exemplary service and knowledge of the label industry.

 

Pay Range:

$55,000 to $68,000, annually, depending on experience

 

Key Responsibilities:

  • Using pre-determined corporate standards, develop an accurate labor hour and material dollar estimate that meets the requirements of the specification or work scope, ensuring that all necessary customer supplied information has been received.
  • Determine appropriate margin based on market variables and product category.
  • Enter appropriate data into the ERP system in an accurate, uniform manner with special attention paid to company standards, customer specific information and special manufacturing requirements.
  • Accurately document relevant required work specifications to ensure proper manufacturing procedures.
  • Send completed price quotes to customers based upon pre-determined corporate standards and include responses to any special customer requests.
  • Troubleshoot customer and company needs, working to resolve all issues on a timely basis.
  • Confirm and document special customer requests and make that information available for company use across departments.
  • Partner with internal departments, including production and order processing, to ensure that all necessary information is valid and accessible.
  • Make raw material substitution recommendations and provide samples for testing as necessary.
  • Communicate with material vendors to identify the best solution for the customer.
  • Work within our customer’s sales strategy to provide the most competitive solution and use industry and application knowledge to create opportunities for business development.
  • Utilize Excel to estimate multi-item quotes, creating reports and other departmental needs.
  • Other projects/duties as assigned

 

Requirements:

  • Advanced Excel skills, including but not limited to VLOOKUP, SUMIF, pivot table and macro creation, required.
  • Flexographic/digital label estimating experience in a manufacturing environment, with strong working knowledge of raw materials, preferred but not required.
  • Strong analytical skills with a high degree of math and calculation proficiency.
  • Ability to work at a high speed with a high degree of accuracy and attention to detail.
  • Ability to organize and manage multiple and competing priorities.
  • Excellent communication skills and the ability to interact professionally with customers and internal team members via phone, email and in person.
  • Ability to troubleshoot issues and assist internal groups with solutions.

  Production Supervisor (Itasca, IL - 2nd Shift)

Diversified Labeling Solutions, Inc. (DLS) is seeking a 2nd Shift Production Supervisor to join our Itasca, IL team.  The Production Shift Supervisor is a key member of the plant management team and is responsible for the success of shift flexographic and digital printing operations. This position supervises manufacturing processes in support of the overall company manufacturing strategy, to maximize safety, productivity, quality, waste, and customer satisfaction. 

 

Shift Hours: Monday – Thursday, 2pm – 12am (4 day workweek)

 

Pay Range:

$72,000 - $87,000 annually, plus bonus opportunity

 

Key Responsibilities:

  • Supervise and lead manufacturing teams to meet manufacturing targets while ensuring safety, quality, and production efficiencies
  • Drive effective labor utilization, efficiency improvements, and adherence to quality processes, by assigning personnel, communicating priorities, and managing processes, equipment, resources and overtime
  • Provide leadership, technical support, training, mentoring and periodic performance feedback to members of the manufacturing team, ensuring the successful accomplishment of production goals and enhancing their career development
  • Monitor key performance indicators (KPI’s) for production efficiency, personnel management, and capacity utilization to ensure production of high-quality finished goods
  • Provide manufacturing support by assisting team members in trouble shooting of equipment and production issues, and performing quality control sign-offs and press checks
  • Identify equipment issues and coordinate with Equipment Maintenance to ensure necessary maintenance activities are completed
  • Understand and communicate business objectives and customer requirements to manufacturing team, to ensure manufactured products meet customer needs
  • Manage the ordering of replacement dies and other essential tooling
  • Troubleshoot and support ink-related issues, including color matching and application challenges, in collaboration with press operators and ink room personnel
  • Ensure daily start-up/shutdown procedures are followed each shift
  • Review, manage and approve reporting of employee compensable hours and ERP daily balancing
  • Manage employee discipline in alignment with company policies and procedures
  • Maintain a safe and clean work environment, in accordance with corporate safety policies
  • Ensure completion of all required employee training within designated timelines
  • Promote company vision, strategy and mission objectives to encourage a safe, inclusive, accountable, innovative, and results-oriented work environment
  • Other projects/duties as assigned

 

Qualifications:

  • Minimum of 5 years experience in flexographic printing processes and techniques, with a strong understanding of manufacturing principles
  • Minimum of 2 years supervisory experience in a manufacturing setting
  • Proven ability to implement production procedures, with attention to detail
  • Ability to coach and motivate staff to a higher level of performance
  • High degree of mathematical aptitude, attention to detail and organization
  • Self-motivated with a high level of critical thinking, sound decision making and problem-solving skills
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to communicate effectively with team members of all levels
